The most famous British ship, HMS Victory, is actually the sixth ship of the British Royal Navy to carry this name. After participating in many other wars, the ship was sent to dry dock at Portsmouth in 1922 to be preserved as a museum ship. Nowadays, HMS Victory is the oldest naval ship still in commission.
