Description
Helen Mary work vessel custom built model ship
The Helen Mary work vessel was designed and built by Inverlussa Marine Services as a DSU and AHT ship. DSU (Diving Support Vessel) is a type of work boat built for the purposes of carrying diving equipment, including personnel, for carrying out tasks such as installing pipes below water for oil rigs. AHT (Anchor Handling Tugs) are work boats that carry or tow anchors to oil rigs and then help to install them. They are also used for transporting supplies to off shore oil rigs. The Helen Mary is a combination of both DSU and AHT, and serves a variety of functions that fall under the ones listed above.
The Helen Mary was built with flexibility and efficiency in mind. The vessel can tow up to 27 tonnes and carry up to 125 tonnes on her deck. She can also carry six 20 foot contains and uses a 4 point mooring system to carry out essential diving work and maintenance to oil rigs. Alongside her potential to carry large quantities of weight, she is very cost effective, carrying up to 75 metres cubed of fuel and holding up to 20 metres cubed of fresh water. She has six 2 berth cabins and one 1 berth cabin meaning she can also carry a large crew.
This is a custom built model ship of the Helen Mary which was built by Premier Ship Models. The model was built from scratch using the plans of the original vessel to ensure total accuracy. It was handcrafted using high quality materials and strong attention to detail by our experienced model makers. To browse our full range of custom built models please click here.
