J Class Yachts
Ready made models of the J Class, the great America's Cup yachts of the 1930s and the modern rebuilds racing today. Built, rigged and mounted, with faired hulls and laid decks. The most elegant shapes in our yacht range and among the easiest to place in a room.

The J Class has a shape that reads instantly: enormous overhangs, a low sheer, a single towering mast and acres of sail. Modelled properly, the proportions carry the piece on their own without any need for added detail.
What makes a good J Class model
Fairing and finish. The hull is a long, smooth curve with no deck clutter to distract the eye, so any flatness or asymmetry shows immediately. Our models are built up and faired in timber, then finished in the yacht’s colours with a polished waterline and boot top. Decks are laid in fine strip timber with king planks and margin boards rather than scribed lines, and deck hardware includes winches, cleats, skylights, hatches and correct mast and boom profiles.
Sails and rig
Sails are supplied in cloth with numbers applied, or carved and set for a fixed display pose that tolerates handling. Because the rig is simple compared with a square rigger, a J Class model displays well in an open room rather than needing a cabinet, though the mast makes it tall for its length.
Displaying a pair or a set
These look particularly good as a matched pair or group at a common scale, which is worth planning if you intend to collect more than one. Check the stated scale on each listing before buying a second.
Common questions
Are these the original yachts or the modern rebuilds?
Both appear in the range. Where a yacht has been rebuilt, the model represents a recognised configuration, and the listing indicates which.
Why are J Class models taller than other yacht models?
Because the real yachts carried an exceptionally tall rig for their waterline length. Measure the height available, not just the shelf width.
Can you build a specific yacht in her racing colours?
Yes, as a custom commission, matched to the yacht and the season you want represented.
