About the Sovereign of the Seas
The HMS Sovereign of the Seas was ordered in 1634 by King Charles I. Originally, she was to be a 90-gun first-rate ship of the line of the English Royal Navy, but at launch was armed with 102 bronze guns. The sheer size of the ship, and the costs needed to make it, secure this ship as a behemoth of the seven seas. Known as the ‘Golden Devil by enemies, this ship was nothing short of legendary.
About the manufacturer
Nauticalia is ship model producer, as well as a producer of several different model ranges with a long history dating back to 1974. It started life as a floating marine antiques store, in a converted rubbish barge on the River Thames. Over forty years later, they are now a famous name in the industry, using only the best quality materials for their model ships. You will most certainly not be disappointed with their fantastic range.
