Handcrafted, scratch built and readymade La Licorne model ship

The Unicorn model ship (La Licorne in French) is one of the many scale models we have available in our Custom built range, here at Premier Ship Models. Fully handcrafted with high attention to detail, this is a fictional model of a ship which featured in The Adventures of TinTin comic books, The Secret of the Unicorn published in 1943 & Red Rackham’s treasure published in 1944. 

Playing a leading role in both comic book stories, the La Licorne model ship features throughout the 2011 Spielberg 3D movie, “The Adventure of TinTin: The secret of the Unicorn”.

The ship model is purchased by TinTin in a market in Brussels and intended as a present for his friend Captain Haddock. The story takes a turn when they soon discovered that the ship model of The Unicorn, a 17th century navy vessel was captained by Haddock’s ancestor Sir Francis Haddock and contains secret manuscripts.

With high attention to detail, our artists have created an exact replica of this popular ship model.  La Licorne has been designed with the highest level of quality workmanship and the finest materials to bring this fictional wooden ship model to life.
